Day 1: Nalemuru Gate to Simba Camp, 9 km;
2 DAY: Simba Camp to Kikilewa Camp, 17 km;
3 DAY: Kikilewa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Camp, 7 km;
4 DAY: Mawenzi Tarn Camp to School camp, 8 km;
5 DAY: School camp to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut, 22 km;
Day 6: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate
Day 0: Arrive in Tanzania
You will gather with or meet with our professional mountain guides for a briefing about hiking and all the necessary equipment’s you need for successful hiking to the top of the roof of Africa.
Any missing equipment will be rented on this day.
Day 1: Moshi town to Nalemuru Gate to Simba Camp
Elevation: 1950m to 2750m
Distance: 9 km
Hiking Time: 4-5 hours
Habitat: Montane Forest
Early in the morning, after breakfast at the hotel in Moshi town, you will be taken mountain guides to Rongai Gate for about 3 hours, where registration for trekking and entering Kilimanjaro mountain national park will be issued.

Day 2: Simba Camp to Kikilewa Camp
Elevation: 2750m to 3600m
Distance: 17 km
Hiking Time: 6-7 hours

After breakfast, you will continue hiking from Simba camp to the second camp for a short time of resting
and gating lunch, and you will continue hiking by passing across the moorland to the Mawenzi peak side to Kilelwa camp, where you will have dinner and rest overnight.
Day 3: Kikilewa Camp to Mawenzi Tarn Camp
Elevation: 3600m to 4330m
Distance: 7 km
Hiking Time: 4-5 hours
Habitat: Semi-desert
You will leave the vegetation and head to Mawenzi Tarn Camp, where you will get lunch, dinner, and rest overnight.
Day 4: Mawenzi Tarn Camp to School Camp
Elevation: 4330m to 4695m
Distance: 8 km
Hiking Time: 4-5 hours
Habitat: Alpine desert
After breakfast, you will continue ascending from Mawenzi camp across the lunar desert of Saddle, which is between Kibo and Mawenzi Peak, to Kibo’s crater wall.
At school camp, you will rest, enjoy dinner, maintain the energy of your body, and prepare all the requirements for summit.
Day 5: School camp to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut
Elevation: 4,695m to 5,895m
Distance: 22 km
Hiking Time: 10 to 13 hours
Habitat: Arctic
At midnight to 2 a.m., guides will wake you up to start hiking to the summit point.
You will start hiking from school camp, passing Gilman’s Point, which is steep, and you will have frequent short breaks for resting.
From Gilman’s, you will continue hiking to Uhuru Peak, the top of Mount Kilimanjaro, where you will spend a short time taking photos and enjoying the roof of Africa,
offering views of different parts of Africa, clouds, and various landscapes.
Day 6: Horombo Camp to Marangu Gate
Elevation: 3690m to 1830m
Distance: 20 km
Hiking Time: 5-7 hours
Habitat: Rain forest
After an enjoyable night, you will have breakfast at Horombo camp site and continue descending to Marangu gate, where you will receive your certificate for the summit.
You will be taken from Marangu gate to Moshi town hotel by vehicles.
