We leave Barranco and proceed up a narrow slope, crossing the Barranco Wall, to the camp ground in the Karanga Valley. While traversing between the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers, we proceed to the top. You travel northwest and make your way over steep scree towards Stella Point on the crater rim. You will take a brief break at Stella Point (18,600 feet), where you will be rewarded with the most spectacular dawn you are ever likely to witness (weather permitting).
