Day 0: Arrive in Tanzania

The moment you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will meet our team, who will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel in Moshi town. You will also meet your guide, who will brief you on your upcoming trek and make some arrangements on equipment to make sure you have all the necessary mountain gear. The missing gear can be rented on this day at 100%.

Day 1: Londorossi Gate to Forest Camp

Elevation: 7,800ft to 9,500ft
Distance: 6 km

Habitat: Montane Forest

After an early breakfast, mountain guides and porters from Climbing Specialist will take you from Moshi town to Londorossi Gate for 4 hours, where you will do registration and issue the permit for entering Kilimanjaro National Park, which takes about 45 minutes. Then you will start your hiking safari, passing through Lemosho trailhead, where you will stop to get lunch and rest. Then you will continue hiking, passing through the most attractive forest with attractive wind conditions, and continue ascending to the Forest Camp Site.

Day 2: Forest Camp to Shira Camp

Elevation: 9,500ft to 11,500ft
Distance: 8 km
Hiking Time: 5-6 hours
Habitat: Moorland


After the early breakfast, you will continue ascending from Forest Camp with Winners Expeditions professional guide and porters, passing through an attractive savannah environment with volcanic rocks, tall grasses, and heather grasses. You will also pass through different streams as well as long, narrow hilltops or watersheds before reaching Shira Camp, where you will have dinner, rest, and enjoy an enjoyable overnight. Shira Camp plateau offers good views of Kibo.

Day 3: Shira Camp 1 to Shira 2 to Moir Camp

After an early breakfast at Shira Camp 1, you will continue ascending to Kobo’s glaciered peak across the plateau to Shira Camp 2, where you will pass on Moorland Meadows by stream to Moir Hut. Shira plateau is one of the highest plateaus in the world, so it will take a full day to hike toward Moir camp.

Day 4: Moir Hut to Lava Tower to Barranco Camp

Elevation: 13,800ft to 13,000ft
Distance: 7 km
Hiking Time: 4-6 hours
Habitat: Semi Desert


Early in the morning, after breakfast, you will continue ascending from Moir camp to Lava Tower, where, before reaching Lava Tower, you will pass via junction toward Kibo Peak. At Lava Tower, you will see an amazing tall narrow structure with shark’s tooth-like structure. Soon after, you will continue hiking to the second junction that brings us up to the Arrow glaciers. You will continue down to Barranco Camp, where you will have dinner, rest, and enjoy an enjoyable sleep. This day will bring acclimatization.

Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp

Elevation: 13,000ft to 15,000ft
Distance: 9 km
Hiking Time: 8-10 hours
Habitat: Alpine Desert

After an early breakfast, you will continue moving with our professional mountain guides from Barranco camp, passing through Barranco Wall to Karanga Valley campsite, and then you will meet the junction that connects with the Mweka Trail. You will continue ascending to Barafu camp, which offers views of Mawenzi and Kibo Kilimanjaro hills from different angles. At Barafu, you will rest, take dinner, rest, and get prepared for the summit.

Day 6: Barafu Camp to Summit, down to Mweka Camp

Hiking Time: 5-7 hours up / 5-6 hours down
Elevation: 4700m to 5895 m and down to 3090 m
Distance: 6 km up and 13 km down
Habitat: Arctic

The day of triumph arrives as you embark on the final ascent to the summit. Leave Barafu Camp in the midnight hours and make your way towards Uhuru Peak. Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate, drive to Moshi

After an early breakfast, you will continue descending to Mweka Gate, where you can receive your summiting certificate. Then you will be derived with a travel agency by vehicles from Mweka Gate to the best hotel in Moshi Town for celebrating your win to reach the top of the roof of Africa, enjoying meals, resting, and staying overnight. The next day you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport to return to your home country.
